Géraldine feels great, as the pregnancy and birth of her son Gregory went perfect. "That was the most wonderful time in my life," said the ravishing Swiss singer, who is now back at her home near Munich with her son Gregory.

Géraldine Olivier's newest album "Und die Welt wird sich dreh'n" is already available on the Market and is currently her fifth solo album. "I gave myself more time to work on this CD than normal, but not only because of the maternity leave," said the singer. "I wanted to make a record that was perfect to me and that fit into the changes in my life."

Almost all the songs on the new album revolve around tenderness ("Hol' Dir mein Herz"), romance ("Amore") and the happiness that comes from being together ("Was doch die Liebe alles kann"). There is also the long waiting on the man of her dreams ("Und die Nebel zieh'n übers schwarze Meer"), the life after seperation ("Und die Welt wird sich dreh'n") and the story about a love, that always comes back to life ("Der letzte Zug nach Paris"). Géraldine Olivier sings all these songs in a voice that sounds more sensual than ever before. These are the snapshots of a woman who has found her own private happiness. The most personal of the fourteen songs is of course "In mir schlägt ein Herz". Géraldine Olivier recorded this song when she was 4 months pregnant. "To carry a child under your heart is the most wonderful feeling that a woman can ever experience."

The happy and bouncy melodies of the most recent album were composed in cooperation with the successful composer Christian Bruhn. The text originates from successful authors like Günther Behrle, Robert Jung, Michael Holm and Kurt Hertha. "I am very proud that Christian Bruhn composed almost all of my new Songs," said the singer. After all he has penned many of the greatest hits from Mireille Mathieu, who Géraldine Olivier adored even as a teenager. "Her songs were previously my favorite songs to sing. At first only at home, but later also at singing contests and for my first appearances. Mireille Mathieu is my biggest idol. I have always dreamed that one day I would also have such wonderful songs. This dream has now come true."

The international singing career of the sympathetic Swiss had already begun when she was young. As a soloist for the choir "La Chanson des 4 Saisons" the then 19 year old appeared for Switzerland in 1986 at the World's Fair in Vancouver, Canada. At this time Géraldine Olivier was working as a secretary in the Bern Federal House, the seat of the Swiss Government. She would one day be sent to Japan as an Embassadorial secretary, to Tokyo of all places, thousands of miles from her home. There at a diplomatic reception of fellow Countrymen she received her first contact with the professional Swiss music scene. Thereby came "in memory on the Land of the Rising Sun" the song "Soleil, Soleil", with which she won the 1992 Swiss qualification for the "Grand Prix Eurovision". All of a sudden three years later came her greatest breakthrough with the sentimental song "Nimm dir wieder einmal Zeit", which then landed the music artist her splendid win at the 1995 "Grand Prix der Volksmusik" in Vienna.

In the meantime Géraldine Olivier has reached the heights which she had always dreamed of, both privately and occupationally. Does she still have a wish? "Of course," said the singer. "I would be so happy to also conquer the French music market with pop music and Chansons, and to at least step a little bit in the footsteps of Mireille Mathieu. Privately I hope that I can experience many of life's wonderful moments with Gregory. Géraldine Olivier loves children above anything else, therefore she wants to continue engaging with such projects as "Tour der Hoffnung" and "Aktion Telethon" and helping out sick children. "When only one child becomes well and can laugh again because of the money that I have raised through benefits concerts, then that is for me the greatest gift."
